Minimum Wage Increase 2026

On December 3, 2025, the National Minimum Wage Commission (CONSAMI), comprising government, labor, and business sector representatives, reached a unanimous decision to increase the daily minimum wage for an eight-hour shift by 13% for the year 2026. This adjustment is set to take effect from January 1st, 2026.

General Minimum Wage Changes:

The daily General Minimum Wage will be increased from MXN $278.80 to $315.04. This adjustment already includes a 6.5% raise plus an additional amount of MXN $17.01 from the Independent Recovery Amount (MIR), which is intended to restore the purchasing power of workers receiving minimum wage.

Northern Border Zone Wages:

In the Northern Border Zone, the daily minimum wage will increase from MXN $419.88 to $440.87, also already adjusted by a 5% increase.

Professional Minimum Wages:

Similarly, professional minimum wages across various sectors will have a 13% increase effective from the start of 2026.

These changes will be officially published in the coming days in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (Official Gazette of the Federation).
