Jesús heads our Immigration practice, focusing on temporary and permanent visas, obtainment of business visas for nationals of countries classified as restricted nationalities, including clearance at the major ports of entry in Mexico, and business visas for individuals living in Mexico who need to travel to other countries. His practice also includes assisting families with issues relating to their immigration status in Mexico, such as paperwork for minors traveling unaccompanied abroad. He also provides counseling to businesses on the legal requirements and documentation they must have available when employing foreign personnel.
Jesús also assists with the relocation of foreign personnel within Mexico, obtaining approval from the appropriate immigration office where the individual, as well as their families, is being relocated.
Jesús is also an active member of our Intellectual Property practice. For over 30 years, his Intellectual Property practice includes the procurement and obtainment of patents, trademarks, and copyright registration, counseling clients on proof of use of their trademarks, litigation and other legal actions pertaining to the infringement of intellectual property rights. Jesús also advises and represents clients in negotiating, drafting, procuring and registering the enforcement of license agreements. Jesús currently teaches Intellectual Property Law in the Masters Program in Corporate Law of the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ).
